I am pleased to welcome you to the College website.  As a member of the public you will find explanation of the College structure and processes and detailed outlines of the educational programs.  As a Fellow or Trainee additional information of an administrative nature is available within the Member Section.

The College is governed by a Council which is elected by the Fellows and meets face to face three times each year.  The Executive of Council comprises the President, Vice President, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer who meet regularly between the Council meetings.

Within the organisational structure there are many committees who meet at least once between Council meetings and provide recommendations to Council on matters specific to their area of expertise. They include the Board of Education, Constitution and Regulations, MOPS, Private Practice, Public Health, Rural & Regional, Scientific and Standards Committees.  There are a number of subcommittees within this structure.  Details of the Executive, Council, Committee and subcommittee membership can be found under Governance in this area of the site. Each region comprises a faculty which is governed by a Faculty Board.  The Board reports to Council on matters of national significance.

The Memorandum and Articles of Association sets out the objectives and governs the operation of the College.  The Articles define the election of Fellows, cessation of Fellowship, the organisational structure, the powers of the Council and Committees, meeting procedure and financial operations.  The College is a limited liability company and has requirements under the corporations act as described in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
